My name is Jamie Zerr-Lockwood, and I have been painting for as long as I can remember. I paint in acrylics and oils, primarily. I am involved in several local artist communities in my home state of Colorado.
My passion for painting has taken me on many adventures. I have been showing my art around northeastern Colorado, Denver, Boulder, and Littleton for several years.

Sadly, after fifteen years of fond memories, our family's beloved yellow lab, Kai, passed away in 2017. After he passed, I immediately painted his portrait. Seeing that portrait every day helps our family remember all the precious time we had with him. I want to provide other people with the joyful experience a portrait of their pet can bring. We now have three dogs and I have painted portraits of each of them. Even though I see them every day, I can look at their paintings and immediately feel a sense of happiness and joy captured in the portrait. |
I paint releastic oil paintings based off of the photos you provide.
I try to capture your pet's unique personality in the portrait by paying attention to the details—crazy curls, caring eyes, special markings—that make your pet unique.
The process of painting a portrait is not simple, so you won't find a one-click button to just order a portrait on this site. You will start by sending me several photos of your pet, which I will review and decide whether I can produce a worthwhile piece of art from those pictures. I will be in touch with you via e-mail, letting you know what I can and cannot do, and discussing your portrait options with you.
Once we've agreed on the photo to use, I'll ask for a small non-refundable deposit before I schedule a time to dedicate to working on your portrait. I'll let you know how far out I am booked already. Each portrait takes a few weeks to complete, so there may be a short wait before I have any open time slots.
When I paint your pet's portrait, I am focused on your pet only. I am a pet lover myself, and realize how important it is to capture your pet's likeness in the portrait. Because I work on only one portrait at a time, we will discuss my availability and when you can expect to receive the finished portrait. This is not a guaranteed date, but should give you a rough idea of whether it will be ready in time for a special event (Someone's birthday, Christmas, etc.).
While I am working on your portrait, I will send you updates of my progress so you can stay up to date and watch the portrait come to life on the canvas. When I am finished, I will send you a picture of the final portrait for your final approval.
When you approve the final picture, you'll receive an invoice for the remainder of the balance due (The portrait price minus the deposit). As soon as that is paid, I will package and ship your portrait to you at no additional cost.
